Giselle: a ballet in two acts, is the next screening in the Music and Dance on Film series.  This is Maina Gielgud’s acclaimed production of the classical ballet that is a favourite of audiences throughout the world.

With music is by Adolphe Adam, it features Christine Walsh, Kelvin Coe and artists of
The Australian Ballet. The production is Directed by Maina Gielgud, with Choreography by
Marius Petipa, after Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot.  The Elizabethan Melbourne Orchestra
(now known as Orchestra Victoria), is conducted by Noel Smith.  This performance was filmed at the Adelaide Festival Centre in 1990.

It will be screened on Wednesday August 18, commencing at 12.00 noon (and concluding at 1.45 pm approx).  It will be held in the Arts Listening-Viewing Room.  Enter from the Audio-Visual Centre (via Trescowthick Information Centre and Arts Reading Room).
