Find My Past UK Logo_300dpi

We are pleased to announce that findmypast.co.uk is now available at the State Library.

With approximately 750 million historical records, this database is a fantastic addition to our growing collection of British genealogy resources. Coverage includes birth, death and marriage indexes, parish records, census records, immigration and shipping, military records and other miscellaneous sources.

Popular resources include:
England and Wales census records 1841 to 1911
Chelsea Pensioners’ British Army service records 1760 to 1913
Passenger lists leaving the UK 1890 to 1960 (including passengers departing for Australia)

I was delighted to find Vida Goldstein traveling on the Barrabool from London to Melbourne in 1922, her occupation listed as journalist. Other famous names you can find include Nellie Melba and Sir Donald Bradman.  Let us know if you find any other interesting entries.

Access is freely available (for 15 users at a time) in the State Library building.
Happy searching all!
