Good morning all!
Today is Family History Feast day and I’m feeling extremely excited about this year’s program. With talks on conscription records, Koorie records, genealogical gems in the State Library’s La Trobe collection, writing a non boring family history and more, we’re in for a action packed day of genealogical delights.
This event is dedicated to the memory of Don Grant (1932–2011), a former staff member of the State Library of Victoria and Public Record Office Victoria and a significant contributor to Australian genealogy. A tribute to Don Grant, will be held in the afternoon, followed by the annual Don Grant Lecture. This year’s lecture “Storming the barricades – the family history revolution” will be presented by Dr Andrew Lemon, President of the Royal Historical Society of Victoria.
For those of you have who missed out on tickets, don’t despair! The event will be podcast and made available on our website at a later stage. I’ll also be blogging about the presentations so stay tuned for further posts.
For those coming in today, I’ll see you at 10am!
