Friday 25 February at the Victorian Archives Centre, North Melbourne, the annual Shake Your Family Tree event organised by National Archives of Australia. More than 200 genealogists, six stands including of course the State Library of Victoria’s and a day long program of talks on researching at the various agencies, such as Public Record Office Victoria and the Library. Hopefully Grant and I from the Genealogy Team at the Library met many of you on the day. We answered a range of questions not only on the Genealogy Centre but on other Library collections, such as newspapers and manuscripts.

Ian Cox, one of the Libary conservators enjoyed participating in the hour long conservation clinic. A number of members of the public brought along their family treasures for advice from the experts.
A very successful (and enjoyable) day. Watch out for details of Shake Your Family Tree 2012!
