The annual Family History Feast hosted by the State Library of Victoria will be held on Monday 10 August 2015 during National Family History Month.  Bookings for this the twelfth annual Feast hosted by the Library open on Monday 22 June on the Library website.

The popular event will have World War 1 as its theme this year and the day features a range of speakers on different aspects of the War.  Dr Kirsty Harris of the University of Melbourne will focus on the role of women while Dr David Holloway will look at a unique Victorian regiment, the 4th Light Horse. Staff from the Library, Public Record Office Victoria and National Archives of Australia will also highlight relevant collections.

Professor Bruce Scates of Monash University will end the day with the 2015 Don Grant Memorial Lecture on “Bringing the War Home : Repatriation Records and the Family Historian”.

If you would like to listen to podcasts or watch videocasts of some of the talks given at earlier Feasts you can find them on the Library website. I look forward to meeting you on 10 August!
