On Thursday evening the State Library officially launched the Nikon-Walkley Press Photography exhibition. Speaking to guests of the launch, Age photographer Eddie Jim spoke about the story behind his 2014 Nikon-Walkley photographic essay, ‘Hayden’.
The exhibition is currently open to the public and showcases 89 works by shortlisted photojournalists, including the 2014 Nikon-Walkley Photo of the Year, Andrew Quilty’s striking ‘Baby Burn Victim in Boost Hospital’. The annual awards are the pinnacle of achievement for Australian press photographers and are judged by a panel of senior photographers and picture editors.
From moments in sport and news to photographic essays and portraits, the events of the year captured by Australia’s top press photographers are revealed through the exhibition.
