They’re on again – Australia’s only teen-choice awards for fiction.

Now in their fourth year, the Inky Awards give teenagers the chance to vote online for their favourite read from a shortlist of books by local and international authors.

Authors on this year’s shortlist include Justine Labalestier, Phillip Gwynne, Scott Westerfeld, Libba Bray, David Levithan and John Green.

Anyone under the age of 20 can vote for books in two categories:

  • Golden Inky for an Australian book
  • Silver Inky for an international book

And the books that receive the most votes wins. Voters  get a chance to win one of three Inkys’ prize packs as well. Packs include every book on the Inkys’ shortlist.

There’s also a reader award for the best creative response to a favourite book. This year the winner of the Creative reading prize will receive an ipad.

Online voting closes 19 November and the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 25 November.
