Sound Beam currently features two recordings in tribute to the great
Australian conductor, Sir Charles Mackerras, who recently passed away, aged 84.
They include works by composers he was often associated with,
including Gilbert & Sullivan and Czech composer, Leos Janacek.

performing one of the most popular G & S operas.

Sir Charles Mackerras conducts Delius, Dvorak, Elgar, Suk, Vorisek, is a 3 CD recording
featuring some of Europes finest orchestras and choirs. Overture – Zarlivost by Janacek
is also included.
Sound Beam is a regular program highlighting recorded music from the Arts
audio-visual collection. It is accessible through headphones at selected workstations
