A new, larger bookstore opens in Palmer Hall at the State Library today.

The store, run by Readings in partnership with the Library, will stock an increased range of books and add music and DVDs to the mix. There will also be an expanded range of stationery as well as all in-print State Library publications.

Store manager, Tom Hoskins, said he is looking forward to the new store opening.

‘The new space has these amazing windows that look onto the front lawn and the afternoon sun that streams through them is fabulous.

It’s fantastic being in such a magnificent building with so much history – and so much literary history at that! Coupled with the all the events that happen throughout the SLV and the Wheeler Centre and it’s great to be a part of this wonderful literary precinct.’

The store will be open from 10am – 6pm Monday to Saturday.

A bench desk will adjoin the bookshop where Library users can access the Library’s wireless network.
