Today is Family History Feast day and we’ve got a great program lined up. This year’s event includes presentations by the State Library, Public Record Office Victoria (PROV) and the National Archives of Australia (NAA), as well as special guest speakers Shauna Hicks and Janet McCalman. With talks on family photographic albums, PROV and NAA collections, google genealogy and Vandemonians in Victoria, a diverse and exciting day promises to be had!
This year’s event includes the exciting addition of a lunchtime conservation clinic. Conservators from the State Library and National Archives, will be available to give advice on preserving old photographs, letters and memorabilia. Don’t forget to bring in your precious keepsakes to take advantage of their expert knowledge!
The day will conclude with the 2012 Don Grant lecture Family secrets – Vandemonians in Victoria, presented by Professor Janet McCalman of the Founders and Survivors Project.
This year’s event is completely booked out, but for those of you can’t make it, the event will be podcast and made available on our website at a later stage. I’ll also be blogging about the presentations so stay tuned…..
