Cemetery records, passenger lists and a guide to caring for family records are just some of the highlights in our first post about what’s new in the State Library’s Genealogy Collection.
Burial registers and monumental inscriptions for Wodonga Cemetery are now available on CD-ROM across the Library. These sources published by the hard working folks at the Wodonga Family History Society, add to our comprehensive collection of Victorian cemetery records. If you have ancestors north of the border, you want to check out the Free passengers to NSW 1826-1837 CD-ROM recently published by the Society of Australian Genealogists that includes passengers, crew & military ancestors.
Your family history archives by Shauna Hicks offers a concise Australian overview of how to care for and preserve your family records. This handy guide has just been published and is now available in the Centre. The Genealogy Collection also now includes new editions of several outstanding genealogy guides including Peter Christian’s The genealogist’s Internet and David Hawkings’ Criminal ancestors.
