Ned Kelly’s armour has been lent to Beechworth for the annual Ned Kelly Weekend and will not be on exhibition at the State Library between Tuesday 3 – Wednesday 11 August 2010.

The Library has installed ten new state-of-the-art microfilm readers and they are already a hit with newspaper researchers.
Conserving Ned Kelly’s armour

On Friday 6 August the Kelly gang will have a reunion of sorts as all four sets of armour go on display in Beechworth as part of the annual Ned Kelly Weekend. Our conservation and registration team has been working to ensure Ned’s armour reaches Beechworth safe-and-sound, though not necessarily in one piece.
