A triple bill featuring Australian artist Robert Jacks, Spanish soprano Montserrat Caballe and French pianist Yvonne Loriod, is the next program in the Arts on Film series to be screened this Wednesday August 29 in Arts.
The first program Robert Jacks : the artists journey features one of Australia’s most significant abstract artists in New York and back in Melbourne setting up an exhibition of his work. This is another release in the Contemporary artist series by Creative Cowboy Films.
This is followed at 12.20 by Montserrat Caballe : Bel Canto, featuring the renowned Spanish soprano singing the music of Granados, Donizetti and Bellini in a 1966 Paris concert. With the Orchestre philharmonique de lÓRTF, conducted by Carlo Felice Cillario. Recorded live at Salle Pleyel.
This is followed at 1.05 by Yvonne Loriod, Pianist & Teacher. A film by Francois Manceaux about the reonowned French pianist. It retraces her meeting with composer Olivier Messiaen and sharing her experience of the classical, romantic and contemporary piano repertoire with her pupils. This film has been released as part of the Leçons particulieres de musique series.
This triple bill program commences at 12.00 noon and concludes at 2.00 pm (approx). It will be held in the Arts Listening-Viewing Room.
