A Carnegie Hall Christmas Concert is the next program in the Music & Dance on Film series, and the second of two special Christmas screenings.  It will be held in Arts this Wednesday November 24.  This is an wonderful extravaganza of 28 favourite Christmas carols and songs, including Joy to the World, Silent Night, The Twelve Days of Christmas, Away in a Manger, Winter Wonderland and many more.

The concert features opera legends – Kathleen Battle & Frederica von Stade, and jazz legend – Wynton Marsalis. With the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, conducted by the great Andre Previn.  Featured composers include Engelbert Humperdinck, Mel Torme, Rogers & Hammerstein and Mozart. It was recorded live at Carnegie Hall, New York City, on December 8,1991.

The screening commences at 12.00 noon and concludes at 1.30 pm (approx).  It will be held in the Arts Listening-Viewing Room.  Enter via the Arts Reading Room and Audio-Visual Centre (from Trescowthick Information Centre). Admission is free.

This the final program in the series for 2010.
Programs will resume again in March 2011.
