La Stupenda : a portrait of Dame Joan Sutherland, is the next program in the Music & Dance on Film series, to be screened this Wednesday June 22 in Arts.
This documentary, recorded on the occasion of Joan Sutherland’s retirement from the opera stage, combines documentary, archival material and performance to present a unique retrospective of a career that embraced fifty different roles. It includes interviews with Richard Bonynge, Luciano Pavarotti, Kiri Te Kanawa and Sir Sidney Nolan.

The screening commences at 12.00 noon and concludes at 1.30 pm (approx.). It will be held in the Arts Listening-Viewing Room (enter via the Audio-Visual Centre, from Arts Reading Room and Trescowthick Information Centre). Admission is free. No bookings required, but come early as seating is limited.
