Stage and screen releases include cast recordings of two recent Broadway revivals – Follies and Porgy and Bess. Follies was first produced on Broadway in 1971. Music and lyrics are by Stephen Sondheim, who recently visited Melbourne for A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum at Her Majesty’s. The Production Company presented the show in Melbourne in 2008. The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess was first produced on Broadway in 1935, and featured an entire cast of classically trained African-American singers. Summertime and It ain’t necessarily so are two popular songs from the score. Lawless, co-produced by Nick Cave, is the soundtrack for the recent western movie release.

Choral Works by Imogen Holst features compositions by the daughter of Gustav Holst (The Planets), performed by the great Choir of of Clare College, Cambridge, who recently toured Australia with the Australian Chamber Orchestra. The Perfect Gardener is a compilation of popular sounds to accompany your gardening activites.

On the Good Ship Lollipop, Animal Crackers in my Soup, The Teddy Bears Picnic are just some of the tunes performed by the Hooley Dooleys, the Fairies, and Bananas in Pyjamas.
