Some great Australian recordings feature on new CDs arriving in Arts.

Annie : Australian cast recording. Sony, 2012.
This Australian Cast Recording of the 2012 revival of popular musical Annie features an all-star cast including Anthony Warlow, Nancye Hayes and Todd McKenney. It is currently playing at the Regent for a 12 week season. Based on the Little Orphan Annie comic strip, Annie was originally produced in Australia in 1978 co-starring Jill Perryman as Miss Hannigan, followed by a revival in 2000 also with Warlow as Daddy Warbucks. Tomorrow and It’s a Hard Knock Life are two show stopping numbers included on the disc.
Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The sound of music : original Australian cast.
This 2012 Stage Door release of the Original 1961 Australian Cast of The Sound of Music features June Bronhill as Maria. It was recorded live on stage at the Princess Theatre, Melbourne, during the shows three year run. The CD includes ten bonus tracks not previously released. It also includes three songs not used in the famous film version. The Library holds several other cast recordings of this very popular show.
Shakin’ all over : Australian pop of the 60s. Sony BMG, 2007.
Shakin All Over and Rock Me Gently are 2-disc compilation albums in the series Australian pop of the 60s and Australian pop of the 70s. They feature many great artists and groups from the period such as The Seekers, Normie Rowe, Johnny Farnham, The Twilights, Sherbet, Air Supply and Rick Springfield. There are further volumes covering more of the 60s and 70s, as well as the 80s.
