Over the next month or so you will notice refurbishment works happening in the Library’s Palmer Hall (between the foyer and Mr Tulk cafe, outside Readings bookshop). We are building a more comfortable space for visitors to hang out, check email and have a break.
The makeover of Palmer Hall is one part of a bigger project we are undertaking to make the Library more comfortable and useful for all visitors.
From early April you’ll be able to enjoy:
- Comfy seating
- Improved wi-fi
- A free exhibition Writing the war
- Pop-up events and programming
Where have the lockers gone? Free lockers for Library visitors are available underneath the left-hand staircase to Queen’s Hall, off the main foyer. Ask our friendly Library staff to point them out.
After April, Palmer Hall will be open during standard Library hours: 10am–9pm Monday to Thursday, and 10am–6pm Friday to Sunday.
Restrooms will be accessible via Mr Tulk during the cafe’s normal opening hours.
