Things are getting a little noisy in January at the Library. To celebrate the Bohemian Melbourne exhibition, Robert Muinos and Ella Hooper will fill the Cowen Gallery with the sounds of their latest solo projects. In the lead up to these shows, we thought we would introduce you to these two talented musicians …
Robert Muinos
Thursday 15 January, Cowen Gallery, 6pm
The name Robert Muinos might not ring a bell, but that’s about to change. Better known as guitarist and back-vocalist for the nine piece rock-soul band Saskwatch, Robert released his first solo EP at the end of last year and has already made waves with his first single ‘I was dreaming’. Robert’s solo project You’re not alone features soul-filled folk sounds and disarming vocals.
Ella Hooper
Thursday 22 January, Cowen Gallery, 6pm
Well known as member of the iconic rock four-piece Killing Heidi and co-host of Spicks and specks, Ella Hooper delivers exceptional vocals with her dark and moody indie-pop album In tongues. She released it, her first solo album, in November last year but previously teased the public with three singles ‘Low high’, ‘The red shoes’ and ‘Häxan’. All brilliant.
