Sue Roberts, CEO and State Librarian has announced the appointment of three new directors to the State Library leadership team.
The appointments are as follows:
Director Community Engagement
Ms Jo Watson has been appointed to the role of Director, Community Engagement. Jo was, most recently, the Chief Executive Officer of YWCA Victoria and has significant executive experience with World Vision Australia as Head of Strategic Change, Head of Advocacy Campaigns, Marketing Manager – Youth.
Ms Watson will be Responsible for community outreach, exhibitions and events, communications and marketing, public libraries, social inclusion and research and evaluation.
Director Digital Strategy
Mr Peter McMahon has been appointed to the role of Director Digital Strategy. Peter was, most recently, employed as the Executive Director Digital at Open Universities Australia. He has operated his own consultancy and has held senior roles in digital strategy in the commercial sector. He has wide experience in online and digital development.
Mr McMahon will be responsible for the Library web presence, digitisation and IT infrastructure.
Director Foundation
Mr Ben Clark has been appointed to the role of Director Foundation. Ben is currently employed by ANZ Trustees as Philanthropy Manager. He has previously been employed at Sotheby’s and the Australian Business Arts Foundation and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from the University of Melbourne in History and Fine Arts.
Mr Clark will be responsible for the Library’s philanthropy program, corporate partners program, fundraising and Foundation membership.
Sue Roberts said she was excited about working with the new team.
